Pete AkinsLead Pastor
In 1976 at the age of four, Pete bowed his knee and his heart in Palm Springs, California and gave his heart to Jesus. Eleven years later at the ripe old age of 15, he committed to being obedient to the Lord’s will in whatever way the Lord would lead. At that point, he thought that his life of obedience would lead to a career in Music with some part time Ministry involved. Eight years after that in 1995 while a Sophomore in College, he found out that the Lord was going to reverse those priorities and He said. “Yes” to a career in Ministry with some part time Music.
As the founding Pastor of True Life Center, Pete moved with his wife Cami to Cedar City in 2002. That year, he also joined the Orchestra of Southern Utah and since that time, he has served as the Executive Director and Principal French Horn Player. Also a passionate snow skier, he is the Director of the Winter Sports School at Brian Head Resort.
It is difficult for Pete to define or prioritize his passions, because his passion for Jesus and His Church are at the heart of everything else he does. Whether it be on the mountain, in a concert hall, on a golf course or in the living room with his wife and 4 children… He is forever grateful to Jesus for showing him the meaning of “True Life”!
